Free schedule maker

Plan your team's week in minutes. See hours, overtime warnings and labour cost as you go, then print it for the back room.

Click a cell to add a shift like 9-5, 09:30-14:00 or off. Breaks: add /30 for a 30 minute unpaid break (9-5/30). Press Enter on an empty day to use the usual shift. Saved on this device only.

How to make a staff schedule in five minutes

  1. Add each person and their hourly rate (optional, for labour cost).
  2. Click a day and type the shift, like 9-5 or 10:30-18:00/30 for a 30 minute unpaid break.
  3. Use Copy Monday to the week for regular hours, then adjust.
  4. Watch the totals: hours per person, overtime warnings and the labour cost for the week.
  5. Print it or save it as a PDF for the staff room.

Overtime rules to keep in mind

Overtime starts after 44 hours a week in Ontario, after 8 hours a day or 40 a week in Alberta, B.C. and Saskatchewan (with different daily rules), and after 40 hours in many other provinces. The tool warns you at the weekly limit you set.

Questions people ask

Is the schedule maker free?

Yes. No account and no limits. Your schedule is saved on this device only.

Can my staff see the schedule on their phones?

Not with the free tool, which is for printing. OENOD sends each shift to staff phones, handles shift swaps and time off, and lets people clock in with GPS. Try it free.

How is labour cost calculated?

Paid hours (shift length minus unpaid breaks) times each person's hourly rate. Overtime hours over your weekly limit are counted at 1.5 times.

Can I make a schedule that runs past midnight?

Yes. A shift like 22-06 is read as 10 pm to 6 am the next morning (8 hours).
